Officers Delivering Food to Homebound Seniors

Patrol Against Hunger

Far too many senior citizens in our community struggle to get the food they need. Because of the many struggles seniors face, those who need food often are unable to access the food help in their neighborhoods.

To fill this gap, Dare to Care Food Bank has a unique partnership with the Louisville Metro Police Department – Patrol Against Hunger.

Metro Police Officers identify shut-in seniors in their division who they believe are at risk of hunger.

Dare to Care Food Bank then delivers nutritionally-balanced food boxes to each police division for officers to make monthly delivery of needed groceries to these seniors in need.
