Childcare Catering: What to Know before applying

Step 1

Childcare site must be: licensed by state childcare authorities, have adequate food storage and handling facilities, current food safety certification

Step 2

Childcare center participation in CACFP is preferred but not required. Sites participating in CACFP must be in good standing, sites not participating in CACFP will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Step 3

Childcare sites must have a minimum enrollment of 40 children, with an average daily attendance of at least 35 children

Step 4

Childcare sites must have a minimum of 80% of enrolled children that quality under CACFP “reduced” or “free” reimbursement category. Non-CACFP sites must show alternative verification of service to economically disadvantaged children.

Step 5

Childcare site must be within a 10-mile radius of Dare to Care’s Community Kitchen, 1200 S 28th street. Sites outside of the 10-mile radius will be considered on a case-by-case basis with possibility of additional delivery fee
