Formerly known as The Hunger Walk
Instead of holding the traditional one day Hunger Walk in September, Dare to Care will be offering two ways to support our mission this fall: Hunger Action Month and the Bobby Ellis Memorial Vigil.
September is Hunger Action Month, a time when people all over the country stand together to fight hunger. It’s a month long campaign that spreads awareness and encourages each of us to take action. Please check back soon for ways you can make a difference all month long!
Each November, Dare to Care’s Bobby Ellis Memorial Vigil highlights the reason Dare to Care began serving the community more than 50 years ago and why we continue to serve our neighbors in need. This meaningful, family-friendly evening includes a short walk and time to remember Bobby, the nine-year-old boy whose death from malnutrition sparked the Dare to Care movement.
We look forward to sharing more information about Hunger Action Month and the Bobby Ellis Memorial Vigil. For questions about Dare to Care’s events, please contact Joey Stinson at 502.736.9415.
