You can make a difference in the lives of people who are hungry.
Dare to Care is committed to safely providing food to our community members in need during the COVID-19 challenge. In lieu of collecting and donating food to Dare to Care during this time, we recommend hosting a virtual food drive to raise funds for our efforts. This will allow us to use your gift to meet the greatest need. Every $1 donated helps provide food for 3 meals.
Click here to make your virtual food drive donation today, and please encourage your friends, family, and coworkers to join you!
If you have questions about hosting a virtual food drive or would like to set up a dedicated link for your company, please contact Emily Carter-Essex.
Food Drive
To discuss the option of hosting a traditional Food Drive please contact Joey Stinson at joey@daretocare.org or 502.736.9415.
If you cannot host a virtual food/fund drive as mentioned above, please review the list below to make sure you have the resources necessary to ensure a positive and successful experience.
Here are some things to consider when hosting a Food Drive:
- You can collect food items in your own boxes or pick up Dare to Care boxes at our main warehouse on Fern Valley Road between 8:30am – 3:30pm weekdays. Please keep in mind boxes should be durable and a reasonable size so we can sort the donated food when delivered to our Dare to Care distribution center.
- Get the word out. Print posters, promote in newsletters, email blasts, social media and on your website. We also have an “items most needed” poster and hope you can incorporate that message into all communication.
- Once your food drive is completed please see the attached “How to return food donations information sheet.” All food donations are returned to the Dare to Care distribution center at 5803 Fern Valley Road, Louisville, KY 40228. Our hours of business are 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
