In 2018, Dare to Care began offering a School Pantry program to elementary, middle and high schools in Kentuckiana.
Through this new approach, students and their families can visit a food pantry at participating schools to receive grocery items to take home. Examples of food items available in school pantries include fresh fruits and vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, beans, tuna, cereal, canned vegetables and soups. Schools that partner with Dare to Care can choose whether the Backpack Buddy or School Pantry program best addresses the needs of students.
