School Pantries

A cardboard box filled with various food items such as water bottles, pasta, and a tin can is being handed to someone.

In 2018, Dare to Care began offering a School Pantry program to schools across Kentuckiana.

Through this approach, students and their families can visit a food pantry at participating schools to receive grocery items to take home.

Examples of food items available in school pantries include fresh fruits and vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, beans, tuna, cereal, canned vegetables and soups. By meeting the food needs of children, School Programs helps address non-academic barriers to students’ overall success. See how one School Pantry impacts students by viewing this video.
