Food Fight
What does it look like when nearly 200 volunteers team up to support 18 of Dare to Care’s food pantry partners across Kentuckiana? It’s a Food Fight that empowers our community and makes us stronger.

Awareness and Advocacy
During Hunger Action Month, Dare to Care reached 2,164+ people through cooking demonstrations, events, pop-up pantries, grocery distribution, and school outreach.
Aug. 24 – Chef Teresa from Dare to Care’s Community Kitchen did a cooking demonstration at the Kentucky State Fair, preparing a stir fry for 50 people!
Aug. 31 – Pop-up mobile pantry at our Parkland Community Kitchen, where we distributed healthy food to 783 neighbors.
Sept. 3 – Dare to Care was the non-profit beneficiary at the Louisville Bats Backyard Bash. Thank you to the attendees who donated over 150 lbs of food!
Sept. 11 – Trinity High School kicked off its annual food drive with 65 student ambassadors present. Dare to Care also piloted a Girl Scouts Patch Program to 15 Daisy Scouts in the second grade. They made cards for senior food boxes and earned a Dare to Care patch!
Engagement
We are so grateful to see how our community came together during Hunger Action Month! In total, our community helped raise the equivalent of 2.3 million meals for our Kentuckiana neighbors!
Sept 1 – HAM Kickoff email went out to 26,899 people!
Sept 2, 9, 20, and 23 – LouCity hosted its first of 4 watch parties benefiting Dare to Care.
Sept 4 – JCPS Food and Fund Drives launched, with a goal of 50,000 boxes of cereal collected.
Sept 14 – $168,594 raised through Give For Good Day.
Sept 15- Dare to Care hosted Coffee and Conversation, discussing the state of hunger in Kentuckiana with our volunteers.
Sept 21 – Cup of Care, where donors were invited to learn more about Dare to Care, debuted!
Sept 21 – Neon Nights by Wel at Humana with proceeds benefitting Dare to Care.
Sept 30 – Racing Louisville hosted a watch party benefiting Dare to Care.

Publix donated a new truck to support our Mobile Pantry program!
Dare to Care and Kroger celebrated the 4th anniversary of the Mobile Market.
