RECALL: Bulletproof Collagen Protein Dietary Supplement
Recalled for Possible Undeclared Allergen: Milk
Out of an abundance of caution, Bulletproof 360, Inc. is voluntarily recalling one lot #1017088 of Bulletproof Collagen Protein dietary supplement due to undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The recalled product is Bulletproof Collagen Protein dietary supplement, packaged in a 16-oz. composite-film bag and has the UPC 8 15709 02115 3. The affected lot #1017088 EXP03/19 is found on the back panel of a bag, and EXP03/19 means expires by March 2019. All other lots of Bulletproof Collagen Protein and other products purchased at bulletproof.com are not affected by this recall.
Affected Bulletproof Collagen Protein was sold directly to distributors in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IN, NH, NY, OR, PA, SC, TX, WA, WI and product has been further distributed to retail stores nationwide.
This voluntary recall was initiated after we discovered that bulk whey (milk) protein was mis-labeled as collagen protein by our third-party manufacturer during the manufacturing process. As a result, the affected Bulletproof Collagen Protein product contains the whey (milk) protein and the finished product label does not declare milk.
This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Consumers who have purchased the affected product (lot # 1017088) and have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk are urged not to consume it and should return product to the original location of the purchase for a full refund.
Consumers with questions related to the recall can contact our Customer Support Team at: support@bulletproof.com or reach out to us via phone at: (877) 651-9482 , Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time.
Prescriptive Pantry
In 2017, Dare to Care began a pilot program to improve clients’ health in a medical setting.
Through the Prescriptive Pantry program, Dare to Care partners with health clinics to provide nutritious food items to food-insecure families. Offering nutritious food helps physicians address medical problems and meet the whole health needs of their patients.
Physicians at participating health clinics ask families about their food security and offer pantry food to those who need it. Talking about food in a medical setting allows physicians to educate families about wellness and healthy eating by providing nutritious food to take home.
A participating pediatric provider shared, “Addressing social determinants of health is crucial to providing quality care to patients and families. Providing food immediately to families who have food insecurity is a tangible means of meeting a need that can have long-lasting effects; persistent hunger and malnutrition can negatively affect children’s growth, brain development, and school performance. By providing food to families in need and connecting those families to other resources, we can help buffer negative long-term health risks. Too often, the social ills our families face can be overwhelming. Consequently, we may think that no significant worthwhile difference can be made unless we have substantial changes of culture and systems. However, now, we can be effectors of change daily. Through our partnership with Dare to Care, we can demonstrate compassion concretely.”
Dare to Care purchases all items distributed at prescriptive pantries to ensure food meets nutritional guidelines. Examples of food items provided include: Canned vegetables, fruits in 100% fruit juice, multi-grain cereal, oats, canned tuna, whole wheat pasta, low-sodium chicken broth, and peanut butter.
Food Recall: Rice Cake Soup
Partner Agencies: Please check your inventory for this recalled product ASAP!
Ottogi America, Inc. of Gardena, CA is recalling 6.40 ounce “Rice cake soup” food, because it may contain undeclared milk. People who have allergies to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled “Rice Cake Soup” was distributed nationwide in retail stores. The product comes in a 6.40 ounce, yellow paper bowl package marked with Item No: 29409101 on the back with an expiration date of June 20th 2018 stamped under the case.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the milk-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a misprinting in the company’s packaging processes.
Production of the product has been suspended until FDA and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected.

Announcement
Fieldbrook Foods Corporation is clarifying that the previously announced voluntary recall of all orange cream bars and chocolate coated vanilla ice cream bars that were produced in 2017 on the company’s Hoyer 1 Line at its Dunkirk, NY plant (plant code 362677) also includes 28,751 cases of Raspberry Cream Bars that were included with Orange Cream Bars in ALDI seasonal split-case purchases. The split-cases were shipped between March and August 2017. These products are being recalled due to the possibility that they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only shortterm symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The Hoyer 1 Line in Dunkirk, NY is the only production line and the only Fieldbrook Foods plant (of 3) involved in this recall notice.

The recalled products have a production date of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017 and a “best by” date of January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. The Hood and Kemps products may show a “best by” date of July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. Fieldbrook Foods is working with each of these retailers to recall the affected products.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The potential for contamination was noted after routine industry testing revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in only a few ice cream bar samples of many tested. The expansion of the recall is out of precaution for consumer health and food safety after a few additional samples tested positive for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. There is no evidence of any contamination prior to October 31, 2017, but the company has issued the recall back to January 1, 2017 through an abundance of caution and in full cooperation with the FDA. The company has suspended production and distribution of all products produced on this production line while it cooperates with the FDA to fully investigate the source of the problem.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-333-0805 x2270.
Fieldbrook Foods Corporation takes the safety and integrity of our products very seriously. Our families also consume these products and we are working tirelessly to identify the cause of the problem and permanently fix it so the orange cream, raspberry cream, and other types of ice cream bars made at Fieldbrook Foods will again have the complete confidence of our customers and consumers.
